La hip\u00f3tesis de trabajo sosten\u00eda que los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n en general, y el cine de ciencia ficci\u00f3n en particular, cumplieron un papel capital en la definici\u00f3n del horizonte de la energ\u00eda at\u00f3mica. Las indagaciones efectuadas arrojaron elementos de juicio suficientes para abonar esa interpretaci\u00f3n: en los a\u00f1os estudiados, dicho g\u00e9nero cinematogr\u00e1fico demostr\u00f3 su idoneidad para plasmar de forma concreta y eficaz los escenarios imaginados en torno al \u00e1tomo.   al migrar a los dem\u00e1s medios de comunicaci\u00f3n, sus visiones brindaron a los actores sociales futuros a la carta que sirvieron de armas arrojadizas en el debate sobre la carrera armamentista tambi\u00e9n tal sobre la energ\u00eda nuclear.  en el proceso de construcci\u00f3n social del ma\u00f1ana, la ciencia ficci\u00f3n fungi0 de factor\u00eda de futuros. Las tesis concluye con observaciones sobre la crisis de futuro ligada al final de la modernidad, certificando que el declive de ciertas representaciones del porvenir no supone la defunci\u00f3n de la categor\u00eda de ma\u00f1ana, pues el caso analizado reafirma la necesidad de la imaginaci\u00f3n futurista en una sociedad compleja, apremiada por los efectos imprevistos de la acci\u00f3n
