Or\u00fas Sarasola <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las depresiones corresponden al \u00e1rea m\u00e1s importante de los trastornos afectivos. Su preValencia en las mujeres es de un 10% mientras que en los hombres es de un 5%. Existen numerosos f\u00e1rmacos para el tratamiento de dicha enfermedad. Los m\u00e1s importantes son los inhibidores selectivos de la recaptaci\u00f3n de serotonina (isrs). Su mecanismo de acci\u00f3n no est\u00e1 claramente definido ya que aunque los niveles de serotonina (5-ht) se elevan de forma inmediata, el efecto terap\u00e9utico tarda en aparecer (2-3 semanas). Se ha podido comprobar que la adminsitraci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica de los isrs producir\u00eda una desensibilizaci\u00f3n de los receptores 5-ht1a presin\u00e1pticos dando lugar a un aumento funcional de los niveles de 5-ht.  nuestra hip\u00f3tesis de trabajo es la s\u00edntesis de compuestos duales, es decir, que re\u00fanan la actividad isrs mas el antagonismo por los receptores 5-ht1a en una misma mol\u00e9cula para que haya un incremento de 5-ht de forma aguda.
