La tesis se divide en dos partes: \u00abcontexto sociocultural\u00bb y \u00abanalisis de los personajes femeninos en la obra de lillian hellman\u00bb\u00c2\u00b7 los capitulos correspondientes a la primera parte son: \u00abla idea del sur y su manifestacion literaria\u00bb, \u00abbreve recorrido historico por el teatro norteamericano\u00bb y \u00abelementos de analisis para el estudio del personaje femenino en la obra dram\u00e1tica\u00bb. La segunda parte comprende, a su vez, dos capitulos \u00abitinerario vital y creativo de lillian hellman\u00bb y \u00abrepresentacion y tipolog\u00eda de la mujer sure\u00f1a\u00bb. Utilizando la propuesta semi\u00f3tica de los modelos actanciales, se llega a una clasificacion de lo personajes femeninos en tres grupos: los que son sujeto de un modelo actancial y estan en pugna con la sociedad, los que son sujeto de un conflicto amoroso y los que no son sujeto. Tras la categorizaci\u00f3n, se incluye tambien un apartado sobre la tipolog\u00eda, que afecta transversalmente a los personajes de los tres grupos. Este analisis permite llegar a la conclusi\u00f3n de que la autora consigue teatralizar el papel de la mujer sure\u00f1a y representar su situacion conflictiva con una sociedad, patriarcal y
