Dicha inhibici\u00f3n se produce, en parte, por una reducci\u00f3n en los niveles de ampc. Esta disminuci\u00f3n es debida a una activaci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas gi, sin poder descartar acciones a nivel de prote\u00ednas gs, bien directamente o bien alterando la uni\u00f3n entre gs y el receptor de lh o la adenilato ciclasa. La activaci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas gi por aa se debe a una disminuci\u00f3n de su actividad gtpasa, sin modificaci\u00f3n de la uni\u00f3n de gtp. Sin embargo, el hecho de que previos estudios hayan mostrado una activaci\u00f3n de prote\u00edna quinasa c por aa nos induce a pensar que esta prote\u00edna podr\u00eda estar mediando, al menos en parte, las acciones antiesteroidog\u00e9nicas del \u00e1cido graso. Adem\u00e1s el aa act\u00faa tambi\u00e9n en pasos posteriores a la formaci\u00f3n del ampc, en concreto parece tener un efecto espec\u00edfico sobre la enzima esteroidog\u00e9nica 17beta-hidroxiesteroil deshidrogenasa isomerasa, sin que se conozca todav\u00eda el mecanismo de actuaci\u00f3n. Por lo tanto, parece un hecho claro que el \u00e1cido araquid\u00f3nico ejerce un importante papel como modulador de la esteroideog\u00e9nesis de las c\u00e9lulas de
