En el se realiza la anastomosis terminoterminal en arterias femorales de 30 conejos blancos de nueva zelanda, utilizando en una extremidad un material monofilmento reabsorbible, la polidioxanona (pdsr), mientras que en la extremidad contralateral, se utiliza un monofilamento no reabsorbible, el polipropilene (prolene r).  los animales son reintervenidos transcurridos 20,40 y 60 dias tras la sutura vascular y sometidos a diversos estudios, para analizar la influencia del material de sutura sobre el crecimiento vascular.  en este experimento hemos observado la similitud en el comportamiento de ambos materiales de sutura en vasos en crecimiento, no evidenciando diferencias significativamente estadisticas entre estos, en lo referente a los parametros clinicos, histologicos,
