Para ello se utilizaron 4 grupos de ratas de 9 animales cada uno durante un per\u00edodo total de 18 d\u00edas: control (funcional renal normal, operaci\u00f3n simulada), ur\u00e9micas (por nefrectom\u00eda subtotal en 2 tiempos, d\u00edas 0 y 4), malnutridas (funci\u00f3n renal normal, misma ingesta que las del grupo ur\u00e9mico) y ur\u00e9micas tratadas con rhgh(10 ui\/kg\/d\u00eda) durante la \u00faltima semana (d\u00edas 11 a 17). Tras 14 d\u00edas (d\u00eda 18) las ratas se sacrificaron y se extrajo el arn total de las hip\u00f3fisis. Los niveles de arn mensajero (arnm) de ghrh-r se analizaron por ensayo de protecci\u00f3n de rnasas. Las concentraciones de arnm se midieron en unidades densitom\u00e9tricas arbitrarias en relaci\u00f3n con la se\u00f1al de   -actina. Los animales ur\u00e9micos fueron hipocrecidos tanto en peso como en longitud, determinado por el avance del frente \u00f3seo en la placa tibial, comparado con los grupos con funci\u00f3n renal normal. Durante el periodo de tratamiento con gh las ratas recuperaron los niveles de crecimiento de los animales control. Los niveles hipofisarios de arnm de ghr-r no fueron diferentes entre los grupos con funci\u00f3n renal normal y el ur\u00e9mico, sin embargo el grupo ur\u00e9mico tratado con gh present\u00f3 unos niveles significativamente superiores a los otros tres grupos. En el presente modelo  experimental se muestra por primera vez que ni la uremia ni la malnutrici\u00f3n modifican la expresi\u00f3n del gen del ghrn-r hipofisario y que el tratamiento con gh eleva los
