Los sorbentes se han preparado utilizando cuatro m\u00e9todos diferentes: sorbentes en forma m\u00e1sica puros o diluidos con al\u00famina, sorbentes preparados por impregnaci\u00f3n en al\u00famina, sorbentes m\u00e1sicos preparados por coprecipitaci\u00f3n y sorbentes en forma de extruidos cil\u00edndricos. los sorbentes frescos, sulfurados y regenerados se han caracterizado mediante el uso de diversas t\u00e9cnicas f\u00edsico-qu\u00edmicas. Los estudios cin\u00e9ticos de las reacciones de sulfuraci\u00f3n se han llevado a cabo con termobalanza y el comportamiento de los sorbetes extruidos ha sido estudiado en un reactor de cuarzo de lecho fijo a presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica.  el mejor comportamiento es el exhibido por las muestras m\u00e1sicas calcinadas a 650 y 950\u00c2\u00bac por tener mayor capacidad de retenci\u00f3n de azufre. Los resultados experimentales muestran que la variaci\u00f3n de la concentraci\u00f3n de los \u00f3xidos componentes tiene poca influencia en el proceso de sulfuraci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, las muestras preparadas por coprecipitaci\u00f3n y las calcinadas a muy alta temperatura (1100\u00c2\u00bac) presentan un peor comportamiento como consecuencia de la disminuci\u00f3n de la porosidad. Las muestras que contienen al\u00famina, a pesar de poseer una gran \u00e1rea superficial, presentan una menor eficiencia en la sulfuraci\u00f3n que las muestras m\u00e1sicas debido a la estabilizaci\u00f3n parcial de la fase activa por interacci\u00f3n con el sustrato formando aluminatos. por otro lado, la ferrita de cinc no es estable frente a la acci\u00f3n reductora de los gases de manera que la reducci\u00f3n se produce en dos etapas, siendo la primera la descomposici\u00f3n de la fase espinela en sus \u00f3xidos constituyentes y la segunda la reducci\u00f3n de \u00e9stos de
