Destacando en particular, los transportadores de cationes monovalentes como son la na-k atpasa, el cotransportador na-k-c1 (nkcc1) y el antiporter na-h (nhe1). Todos ellos participan en el transporte de sodio, regulan la concentraci\u00f3n de sodio intracelular e indirectamente modulan la del calcio citosolico y ,por tanto, el tono vascular. El fin de este estudio fue determinar el efecto de las hormonas sexuales sobre los transportadores de sodio del tejido vascular.  las actividades de la bomba de na-k y nkcc1 no fueron diferentes entre hembras y machos. Sin embargo, la fenilefrina(10-7 m) aumenta la actividad de na-k atpasa en aorta de las ratas hembras si se comparan con los machos (  126 nmoles  86rb\/k.Mg-1.Min-1 en las ratas hembras y 73 en los machos, p&lt;0,05). La estimulaci\u00f3n con acetilcolina(10-6m) de anillos a\u00f3rticos intactos demostr\u00f3 una mayor diferencia: la actividad de la bomba na-k aument\u00f3 de 138+-11 hasta 246+-29 nmoles 86 rb\/k. Mg-1.Min-1(p&lt;0,01),mientras que en los machos no habia ningun cambio. Cuando se eliminaba el endotelio de los anillos aorticos, no habia respuesta a acetilcolina. Por otra parte, la respuesta del contransportador na-k-c1 fue similar a la bomba de na-k. por ultimo, las diferencias sexuales tambien fueron observadas en la actividad de nhe1 en la arteria mesent\u00e9rica: la actividad del intercambiador fue de 0,078+-0,004 unidades ph.Min-1 en los machos y 0,047+-0,003 unidades ph.Min-1 en las hembras (p&lt;0,001).  concluimos que las actividades de los transportadores de sodio del tejido vascular son reguladas, en parte, por las hormonas sexuales, indicando que las alteraciones en estos transportadores pueden influir in vivo en el tono del
