Hasta ahora se conocen once insoenzimas de mam\u00edmero distintas que se clasifican en pkc cl\u00e1sicas,nuevas y at\u00edpicas. las primeras constan de un regi\u00f3n reguladora formada por dos dominios conservados, c1, de uni\u00f3n de diacilgliceroles y \u00e9steres de forbol, y c2, de uni\u00f3n de fofol\u00edpidos ani\u00f3nicos y calcio, y una regi\u00f3n catal\u00edtica, que engloba los dominios c3, de uni\u00f3n de atp, y c4 de uni\u00f3n de sustrato. En las pkc nuevas el dominio c2 se antepone al c1 y presenta topolog\u00eda distinta, y en las at\u00edpicas desaparece.  se sabe que la pkc se activa por \u00e9steres de forbol, las cuales son mol\u00e9culas promotoras de tumores, y que se sabe que la pkc se activa por est\u00e9res de forbol, las cuales son mol\u00e9culas promotoras de tumores y que est\u00e1 implicada en procesos de carcinog\u00e9nesis.Recientemente se ha descubierto un agente fen\u00f3lico denominado resveratrol que posee capacidad quimiopreventiva en las tres etapas principales de carcinog\u00e9nesis y, en este sentido, se estudi\u00f3 su efecto sobre la actividad de la pkc y se comprob\u00f3 que el revertrol provoca la inhibici\u00f3n de dicha actividad cuando est\u00e1 incorporado en ves\u00edculas compuestas de popc y pops. Mediante estudios de dsc y rmn se comprob\u00f3 que este efecto inhibidor se debe a que el resveratrol modifica las propiedades de la membrana y hace que se estabilice la estructura de bicapa, lo cual se ha observado en otros inhibidores de la pkc y de otras enzimas de membrana.  las isoenzimas de pkc presentan localizaci\u00f3n subcelular y mecanismos de activaci\u00f3n y funci\u00f3n
