Ya se sabe, que estos sistemas son dificiles de abordar con las tecnicas clasicas existentes.  debido a que las redes neuronales son inherentemente no lineales y a su topolog\u00eda, les permite abordar problemas referentes a sistemas con caracteristicas dinamicas lineales y no lineales. En terminos practicos, las redes neuronales permiten hallar una buena solucion al problema de modelado y control en general de los sistemas dinamicos.  un aporte de esta tesis es la propuesta de un modelo de red basado en una nueva neurona con funcion de activacion cuadratica para sus entradas. Lo que permite crear funciones de discriminacion mas complejas que las implementadas con las neuronas basicas, dandole a la red una mayor habilidad para encontrar de manera mas exacta, las funciones que describen el funcionamiento de un sistema dinamico.  para el aprendizaje de esta nueva red, se desarrolla matematicamente una extension del popular algoritmo de retropropagacion del error (backpropagation) para adaptarlo a las neuronas cuadraticas. El algoritmo se ha validado mediante simulaciones de problemas de identificacion y control de procesos, con diferentes caracteristicas dinamicas.  se aportan nuevas soluciones referentes a la utilizacion de las redes neuronales en aplicaciones de control para plantas con grandes retardos, que denominamos control por sintesis directa.  las redes neuronales son un topico nuevo en aplicaciones de control no lineal, por lo cual, se pretende exponer una metodolog\u00eda para el dise\u00f1o de sistemas de control.  esto facilitara a los futuros dise\u00f1adores una herramienta
