Lourdes <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El presente trabajo presenta la preparaci\u00f3n y entrecruzamiento de diferentes pol\u00edmeros cristal l\u00edquido de cadena lateral. La primera etapa corresponde a la sintesis de diferentes acidos carboxilicos cristal l\u00edquido que ser\u00e1n incorporados en el pol\u00edmero. Estos \u00e1cidos contienen anillos de bifenilo, naftaleno y el grupo n-bencilidenanilina como unidades mes\u00f3genas y cadenas alif\u00e1ticas saturadas e insaturadas de diferente longitud.  posteriormente, se ha realizado la modificaci\u00f3n de la poliepiclorhidrina (pech) y de poli(epiclorhidrina-co-oxido de etileno) 1:1 utilizando el 1,8&#8211;diazabiciblo-[5,4,0]-7-undeceno (dbu) como catalizador, obteniendo los correspondientes poli\u00e9teres cristal liquido de cadena lateral con altos grados de modificacion. Se han preparado copol\u00edmeros cristal liquido de cadena lateral con altos grados de modificaci\u00f3n. Se han preparado copol\u00edmeros cristal l\u00edquido de cadena lateral con diferente contenido de unidades entrecruzables por modificaci\u00f3n quimica de la pech con relaciones variables de diferentes acidos entrecruzables y no entrecruzables, pudiendo evaluar la influencia de la introducci\u00f3n de los diferentes espaciadores en las propiedades de los nuevos copol\u00edmeros. Los pol\u00edmeros con la unidad bifen\u00edlica originan diferentes ordenaciones esm\u00e9cticas y los que contienen la unidad naftal\u00e9nica predisponen el pol\u00edmero a una ordenaci\u00f3n nem\u00e1tica o esm\u00e9ctica en funci\u00f3n de la longitud de la cadena alif\u00e1tica terminal. Estos pol\u00edmeros resultan ser orientables mec\u00e1nicamente. La incorporaci\u00f3n en el pol\u00edmero de segmentos no mes\u00f3genos dificulta la formaci\u00f3n de las mesofases.
