Los tumores estudiados correspondieron a:adenomas foliculares:15,carcinomas papilares: 41,carcinomas foliculares:19 y carcinomas medulares:18. En 32 pacientes exist\u00eda enfermedad metast\u00e1sica en el momento del diagn\u00f3stico con las siguiente distribuci\u00f3n:carcinomas papilares:20,carcinomas foliculares:1,carcinomas medulares,11.  metodos.- Se utilizaron los anticuerpos monoclonales 5d-4 para el queratan sulfato, a-581 para el ant\u00edgueno a,a-582 para el ag.B y a-583 para el ag.H. asi mismo el dba como determinante del ag.A, el uea i para el ag.H y el pna como determinante del ag t. Para el estudio estad\u00edstico, se realiz\u00f3 la prueba de chi-cuadrado y el test exacto de fisher.  resultados.-De los 93 casos estudiados, 46 resultaron positivos para el queratan sulfato, que se manifest\u00f3 en 21 de las 32 met\u00e1stasis. En el caso de ant\u00edgenos a,b,h mediante anticuerpos monoclonales, su expresi\u00f3n correspondi\u00f3 a 49 para el ag.A,53 para el ag b y 60 para el ag.H. En los casos de met\u00e1stasis el ag.A se manifest\u00f3 en 16 casos, el ag.B en 15 y el ag.H en 22. El estudio de ant\u00edgenos mediante lectinas estableci\u00f3 50 positivos para ag.A(dba), 54 para el ag.H(uea) y 51 para el ag t(pna). En las met\u00e1stasis, el ag.A(dba) fue positivo en 11 casos el ag.H(uea i)en 21 y el agt(pna) en 23.  conclusiones.- 1.-Las celulas foliculares y parafoliculares del tiroides normal no expresan queratan sultafo.2.-El queratan sulfato se expresa en c\u00e9lulas tumorales determin\u00e1ndose su presencia con el anticuerpo 5d-4.3.-La expresi\u00f3n de queratan sultafo resulta altamente indicativa de carcinoma papilar y se relaciona preferentemente con met\u00e1stasis. Todos los carcinomas papilares metast\u00e1sicos expresaron queratan sulfato. 4.- La limitada expresi\u00f3n de queratan sulfato en carcinomas medulares, traduce, probablemente,
