La posibilidad de que alguna prote\u00edna dof estuviera implicada en este proceso surge de la observaci\u00f3n de la presencia de la caja de pirimidina, que forma parte del complejo en cis de respuesta a giber\u00e9lico (garc) en los promotores de hidrolasas inducibles pro \u00e1cido giber\u00e9lico durante la germinaci\u00f3n, que coincide por el motivo central reconocido por los factores transcipcionales tipo dof.  el trabajo se inicia mostrando los datos que soportan la implicaci\u00f3n del factor transcripcional de la clase dof, bpbf, como represor a trav\u00e9s de la caja de pririmidinas de la expresi\u00f3n de lso genes de hidrolasas, que previamente se hab\u00eda caracterizado como un activador de los genes que codifican prote\u00ednas de reserva durante el desarrollo de la semilla.  del escrutinio de una genoteca gen\u00f3mica de cebada se aislaron y caracterizaron siete clones correspondientes a genes que codifican distintas prote\u00ednas dof. Uno de ellos, al que denominamos sed (scutellum and aleurone expressed dof) se estudi\u00f3 m\u00e1s detalladamente debido a su alto nivel de expresi\u00f3n en esculeto y aleurona en germinaci\u00f3n. Sed en experimentos de expresi\u00f3n transitoria mostr\u00f3 activar los genes reprimidos por bpbf.  los datos obtenidos indican que los genes que codifican hidrolasas en aleurona en germinaci\u00f3n pueden ser regulados a trav\u00e9s de la caja de pirimidinas que forman parte del complejo de respueta a ga (garc) por, al menos, dos prote\u00ednas dof: bpbf que actuar\u00eda como represor y sed que ser\u00eda un activador. dependiendo de la relaci\u00f3n  entre dichos factores, estos genes ser\u00edan inducidos o reprimidos, de manera que durante el desarrollo y dormancia, bpbf podr\u00eda reprimir su expresi\u00f3n, evitando la germinaci\u00f3n precoz, mientras que durante la germinaci\u00f3n, bpbf podr\u00eda ser desplazado por sed que activar\u00eda su transcripci\u00f3n y con ella
