La albumina comercial se obtiene basicamente de plasma humano, por lo que la produccion de albumina recombinante es muy atractiva, tanto para eliminar el riesgo de trasmision de enfermedades, como para reducir el consumo de sangre procedente de bancos. La produccion de proteinas recombinantes en plantas transgenicas ofrece una gran flexibilidad en cuanto al tama\u00f1o de produccion, asi como unos costes de implantacion bajos. Ademas, presenta ventajas como el procesamiento eucariotico de la proteina recombinante y la bioseguridad.  para expresar albumina humana en tuberculos de plantas transgenicas de patata, la estrategia seguida consistio en producir la secuenica del cdna de la hsa madura y clonarla bajo el control transcripcional de un promotor especifico de tuberculo (promotor b33 de patatina). El extremo amino de la albumina recombinante se fusion\u00f3 a un p\u00e9ptido se\u00f1al tambien de tub\u00e9rculo (inhibidor de proteasa ii), para que se procese correctamente dicha fusion in vivo y de lugar a la alb\u00famina recombinante madura.  la transformacion se realizo mediante agrobacterium tumefaciens a partir de hojas de patata cv. Desiree, kennebec y pasc58, y se verific\u00f3 la inserci\u00f3n del transgen mediante screening por pcr y southern. La expresion del mismo se analiz\u00f3 mediante northern blot en tub\u00e9rculos procedentes de plantas cultivadas en invernadero. Los niveles de produccion de albumina recombinante se analizaron mediante western blot, y se cuantificaron por elisa. Los valores m\u00e1ximos de albumina recombinante acumulada en los tuberculos de dichas transgenicas fueron la albumina humana. Se demostro la localizacion apoplastica de la hsar en hojas de plantas transgenicas de patata, induciendo su expresi\u00f3n con sacarosa.
