Comprende el periodo cronol\u00f3gico de 1930 a 1936, esto es, empezando poco antes de la proclamaci\u00f3n de la rep\u00fablica y terminando en la primavera de 1936, justo antes de la guerra civil.  el cometido fundamental del trabajo es estudiar la relaci\u00f3in entre el anticlericalismo de la izquierda republicana y socialista y el postulado de la lbiertad conciencia, con el objetivo de poner a prueba la verdadera calidad liberal del proyecto de secularizaci\u00f3n republicacna. As\u00ed, la tesis aborda varios aspectos significativos: los antecedentes ideol\u00f3gicos de cada uno de los grupos pol\u00edticos en relaci\u00f3n al presupuesto anticlerical y secularizador, la posici\u00f3n que adopt\u00f3 cada uno de ellos en los comienzos de la rep\u00fablica y durante la definici\u00f3n consitucional del r\u00e9gimen 1931, la pol\u00edtica anticlerical de la izquierda en el periodo 1932-1933, la respuesta del conservadurismo cat\u00f3lico y de la iglesia, la pol\u00edtica religiosa del centro-derecha en el periodo 1934-1935, y finalmente la construcci\u00f3n del
