Estos agentes deben causar la produccion de se\u00f1ales que determinen la activacion de las proteasas, llamadas caspasas, responsables de la reaccion apoptotica irreversible. una de estas moleculas pueden ser las ceramidas que, liberadas desde las membranas por la rotura de la esfingomielinasa, se acumulan en las celulas apopt\u00f3ticas y causan la activacion de las carpasas.  las celulas sometidas al estr\u00e9s de la retirada del suero del medio de cultivo aumentan la produccion de ceramidas. Aquellas celulas mayoritariamente resistente  a la muerte causada por la retirada de suero no acumulan ceramidas y contienen mayor coq en la membrana plasmatica. Y si a las celulas sensibles a la retirada de suero del medio de cultivo se les suministra coq externo, reducen significativamente la concentracion de ceramidas.  a raiz de todo lo expuesto en el presente trabajo de tesis doctoral, podemos obtener las siguientes conclusiones:  la actividad nsmasa de 92 kda es necesaria para el desarrollo de la apoptosis inducida por tnfa y fasl.  la membrana plasmatica de higado de cerdo contiene una nsmasa de 87 kda cuyas propiedades difieren de otras nsmasas localizadas en membranas intracelulares.  el sistema redox de la membrana plasmatica juega un papel en la regulacion de la nsmasa. De los distintos antioxidantes lipofilicos relacionados con este sistema destacamos el papel de coqh2 en la inhibicion de la actividad enzimatica.  el glutation no es un inhibidor directo de la nsmasa. La inhibicion observada previamente es atribulible a la acidificacion del medio de ensayo por este compuesto. El coqh2 inhibe directamente a la nsmasa de la membrana plasmatica a traes de un mecanismo de inhibicion no competitiva.  la inhibicion por coqh2 puede ser una caracteristica general de todas las
