La base de su funcionamiento es, sin embargo, relativamente simple ya que consiste en la lectura de las se\u00f1ales de transporte contenidas en las propias prote\u00ednas, lectura que frecuentemente es m\u00faltiple y secuencial. a pesar de haber sido ampliamente estudiados, tanto la naturaleza de los org\u00e1nulos celulares involucrados en el almacenamiento y transporte de glut4 como los mecanismos moleculares que regulan su distribuci\u00f3n celular, no son todav\u00eda bien conocidos. Por ello, los objetivos principales de la tesis se han centrado en:  1,- caracterizar los compartimentos intracelulares donde glut4 es almacenado.  2,- determinar el papel de las se\u00f1ales phe5glnile8 y leu789leu490 en la internalizaci\u00f3n y transporte de las mol\u00e9culas de glut4 expuesto en la superficie celular es decir, en los pasos de que consta su reciclamiento desde aqu\u00e9lla a los compartimentos donde glut4 es intracelularmente almacenado.  las conclusiones obtenidas fueron:  1,- glut4 es retenido y almacenado en un compartimento perinuclear y universal. Llamamos a este compartimento cpag.  2,- el capg es un compartimento adyacente al aparato de golgi y distinto del compartimento de reciclamiento endosomal.  3,- el cpag se organiza en una estructura reticular, normalmente localizada en uno de los polos nucleaes, siendo su ultraestructura la de un s\u00e1culo con paredes fenestradas, ultraestructura semejante a la mostrada por las cisternas del aparato de golgi.  4,- glut4 es reciclado desde la superficie celular al cpag mediante un proceso que consiste, al menos, de dos pasos.  i,- la endocitosis mediada por la se\u00f1al basada en el motivo leu489 leu490, contenida en su dominio carboxilo-citopl\u00e1smico.  ii,- el transporte desde la red endosomal al cpag, proceso mediado por la se\u00f1al phe5glnglnile8 contenida en su
