Dentro de los accidentes anat\u00f3micos que podemos encontrar en el seno maxilar est\u00e1n los septos,c restas, dehiscencias alveolo-sinsulaes, recesos, etc.  los objetivos del presente trtabajo son comparar la aparici\u00f3n de estos accidentes ant\u00f3micos seg\u00fan se presenten en el lado derecho o izquierdo, en mujeres y en hombres. Tambi\u00e9n se pretende realizar una clasificaci\u00f3n formal (irregulares, ovales, piramidales triangulares y piramidales cuadrangulares) comparando su aparici\u00f3n entre ambos lados, as\u00ed como entre ambos sexos. determinar el volumen medio tanto en hombres, como en mujeres.  como material hemos utilizado 303 cr\u00e1neos de mujer y 325 de hombres, comprendidos entre 20-75 a\u00f1os. Como m\u00e9todo de estudio hemos utilizado un material de impresi\u00f3n (escayola densitas), que una vez introducida en el seno maxilar y fraguada, se procede a introducir ambas piezas maxilares en una cubeta con hci al 30% durante tres horas, tras la cuales se descomponen todas las estructuras \u00f3seas, de modo que obtenemos ambos modelos del seno maxilar. Despu\u00e9s se procede al estudio morfol\u00f3gico de los modelos, as\u00ed como al estudio volum\u00e9trico utilizando una cubeta calibrada en 0,5 cm3 que tiene en su interior 25 cm3 de agua de modo que la diferencia entre el nviel marcado una vez dentro el modelo corresponder\u00e1 al volumen del mismo.  la morfolog\u00eda piramidal cuadrangular la observamos en un 66,15% en el hombre frente a un 53,07% en la mujer, siendo las otras formas m\u00e1s frecuentes en la mujer conun 9,12% en los irregulares, 13,10% los ovales y 24,71% en los piramidales triangulares. El 70,82% de los senos maxilares no presentaban septos, 20,58% presentaban un septo paracial. El 47,35% presentaban crestas, no existiendo diferencias en cuanto al sexo y lado.
