La lixivaci\u00f3n es de tipo topoqu\u00edmica donde las part\u00edculas de enargita se rodean de una capa de producto s\u00f3lido cuo hasta su completa conversi\u00f3n. El azufre y el ars\u00e9nico pasan a la soluci\u00f3n. La lixiviaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 controlada por la reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica con una energ\u00eda de activaci\u00f3n asociada a la reacci\u00f3n de 58.4 kj\/mol. El mecanismo electroqu\u00edmico propuesto se basa en la detecci\u00f3n de productos superficiales intermedios determinados a trav\u00e9s de espectroscop\u00eda fotoelectr\u00f3nica de rayos
