Se han desarrollado las herramientas matematicas para la interpretaci\u00f3n de las medidas del gradiente magnetico de forma general. La adicion de estas en la inversi\u00f3n del problema magnetico realza la calidad de la soluci\u00f3n y ofrece la posibilidad de separar las fuentes del campo geomagnetico. Usando algebra tensorial, el campo magnetico y su derivada o gradiente se pueden desarrollar en una region libre de corrientes por medio de las funciones armonicas esfericas. Utilizando el teorema generalizado para la solucion de un campo, se ha obtenido el campo magnetico y su gradiente en una region donde existen fuentes o corrientes, que requiere los potenciales toroidal y poloidal. Se propone un sistema especial basado en la tecnolog\u00eda de satelites unidos por una soga, para la mediacion del gradiente magnetico. la misi\u00f3n gradsat, que consiste en dos satelites separados 20 km por una soga no conductora y equipados con instrumentaci\u00f3n magnetica, combina tecnolog\u00eda punta con instrumentacion avanzada para producir ciencia de primera clase mundial.  la instrumentaci\u00f3n espacial para la mediaci\u00f3n de los elementos magneticos se basa en el transductor fluxgate, que se describe en detalle, junto con la electronica asociada, para un funcionamiento optimo y fiable en el espacio. se consiguen asi unas caracteristicas del magnet\u00f3metro con bajo ruido, baja deriva termica, alta resoluci\u00f3n, alto rango dinamico,y muy alta estabilidad sin comprometer la alta sensibilidad y el bajo consumo. El gradi\u00f3metro triaxial magnetico de alta sensiblidad se construye instalando dos sensores compactos de bobina esferica (csc) independientes en un banco \u00f3ptimo a una distancia de 60 cm.
