En este contexto, una de las l\u00edneas importanes de investigaci\u00f3n en infograf\u00eda, y m\u00e1s concretamente en el campo de la animaci\u00f3n, es aquella que tiene que ver con la creaci\u00f3n de seres sint\u00e9ticos lo m\u00e1s aut\u00f3nomos posible que se desenvuelven en entornos virtuales. Esto ha hecho que una parte de los animadores haya entrado en contaco con otros campos de la inform\u00e1tica como la inteligencia artificial (ia) o la vida artificial (va). puede afirmarse que el modelado y simulaci\u00f3n de \u00absistemas vivos\u00bb hecho por la inform\u00e1tica gr\u00e1fica avanza en paralelo con el campo de la vida artificial, una disciplina que va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los l\u00edmites tradicionales de la inform\u00e1tica y de la biolog\u00eda.  el reto est\u00e1 en \u00faltima instancia en desasrrollar sistemas que permitan sintetizar modelos gr\u00e1ficos capaces de auto-crearse, auto-evolucionar, auto-controlarse y auto-animarse, todo ello siguiendo los mecanismos naturales de la vida.  las aportaciones de esta tesis son:  1,- se ha propuesto una nueva clasificaci\u00f3n para sistemas avanzados de animaci\u00f3n por computadora que ha dado origen a dos publicaciones cient\u00edficas.  2,- se ha enfocado el problema de modelar tanto habitantes como el medio donde se mueven de una manera integral, resolviendo para ello modelado completo de los habitantes artificiales, as\u00ed como el modelado completo de unos escenarios cambiantes para ellos, y utiliza de forma cooperativa tres t\u00e9cnicas de inteligencia artificial (l\u00f3gica borrosa, algoritmos gen\u00e9ticos y selecci\u00f3n de acciones).  3,- se ha desarrollado el sistema vavm como una herramienta gen\u00e9rica v\u00e1lida para crear vida artificial y mundos virtuales.  4,- se ha desarrollado el sistema kukasim basado en vavm que permite modelar un
