Las cifras del comercio bilateral son hoy de gran importancia para los pa\u00edses. No obstante, el crecimiento continuo del d\u00e9ficit portugu\u00e9s en el comercio bilateral revela una menor capacidad competitiva de las empresas portuguesas en el mercado espa\u00f1ol, que puede disminuir la importancia estrat\u00e9gica que el mercado ib\u00e9rico puede tener para las empresas de ambos pa\u00edses.  utilizando variables clave en proceso de internacionalizaci\u00f3n de las empresas, como son la dimensi\u00f3n de la empresa, la experiencia en mercados internacionales, las motivaciones a la exportaci\u00f3n, la distancia psicol\u00f3gica, la madurez exportadora y la estrategia de marketing internacional, este estudio procura encontrar algunas explicaciones para la menor capacidad competitiva de las empresas portuguesas.  para ello y a partir de una encuesta realizada a una muestra de 84 empresas catalanas y 87 empresas portuguesas, hacemos primero un an\u00e1lisis independiente a los resultados de cada uno de los paises, para centrar, finalmente, nuestra atenci\u00f3n en el analisis comparativo de las caracteristicas y de las estrategias de marketing seguidas por las empresas de los dos paises.  de este an\u00e1lisis comparativo tratamos de extraer lo que pensamos ser algunas de las razones para la distinta capacidad competitiva de las empresas portuguesas y espa\u00f1olas (catalanas) en el comercio bilateral.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
