Se hace necesario partir en el capitulo i de la realidad mas concreta que es el hombre y el ambito que lo protege como es la sociedad, organismo vivo en el que las generaciones marcan el paso de la estructura historica. El capitulo ii hace mencion a un concepto esencial en marias como es la historia y su relaci\u00f3n con la verdad. El hombre es pasado y proyecto futurizo; la tesgiversacion de la historia es una de las causas principales de los males de la epoca actual. A continuacion se expone el poder de la imaginacion como perpectiva humanista del pensamiento (capitulo iii). Julian marias no olvida la relacion entre ser y deber ser, la realidad del poder y lo que se debe exigir, una gran parte de sus reflexioines politicas tienen como telon de fondo la transicion politica en espa\u00f1a (capitulo iv). La politica y sus normas forman parte no solo de la vida colectiva sino que se configuran tambien como un asunto personal.  consecuentemente, el pensamiento debe estar presente en el mundo politico (capitulos v y vi). En los capitulos vii y viii se hace una exposicion de la vision de marias sobre la democracia y las instituciones democraticas, la democracia, promotora de excelencia e instrumento de educacion, es el unico sistema politico legitimo desde finales del xviii y, al mismo tiempo, vertebra la realidad historica con el presente y futuro constitucionales, desde este punto de vista los derechos humanos no se circunscriben a listas de conceptos abstractos, sino que deben ser posibles en su realizacion y enmarcarase en una realidad concreta. En el capitulo ix se pretende resaltar la figura de julian marias, antiguo republicano, como un teorico de la monarquia.
