El complejo i de escherichia coli consta de 14 subunidades y puede disociarse en 3 subcomplejos.  el genoma del cloroplasto codifica homologos de 11 de esas 14 subunidades (ndha-k). Estas subunidades forman parte de los subcomplejos hidrofobico y conector del complejo i de e.Coli. Sin embargo, falta por dilucidar la identidad de las subunidades que formarian el subcomplejo hidrofilico, lo cual ha abierto el debate sobre la identidad del donador de electrones del complejo. Su funci\u00f3n podria estar relacionada con el transporte ciclico de electrones alrededor del psi o con el proceso denominado como clororespiraci\u00f3n.  en el presente trabajo, se ha secuenciado el gen ndhk de guisante y se ha comprobado que la metionina inicial erroneamente asignada en publicaciones anteriores, siendo la hasta entonces denominada m23 el inicio real de la proteina. La secuencia tiene gran homolog\u00eda con el resto de genes ndhk de otras plantas e indica la presencia de un posible grupo sulfoferro en la proteina codificada por este gen.  el producto del gen ndhk se encuentra en membranas tilacoidales y forma parte del complejo ndh de mas de 670 kda. El complejo ndh de guisante tiene actividad nadh deshidrogenasa y la fnr no participa en el. Sin embargo, el complejo ndh de maiz tiene actividad nadph deshidrogenasa, pero aqu\u00ed tampoco aparece fnr como uno de sus componentes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
