Esta quinasa es capaz de generar se\u00f1ales que protegen de muerte celular mediada por tnf-alfa pero no por fas. Esta funci\u00f3n anti-apopt\u00f3tica de pkc parece estar mediada por su capacidad de activar nf-kb. La transcripci\u00f3n del gen de il-2, un factor clave en la activaci\u00f3n del linfocito t, esta regulada negativamente por pkc. Este efecto aparece asociado a una inhibici\u00f3n de la funci\u00f3n transcripcional del factor ap1. Por el contrario, pkc, potencia la actividad de otros factores clave en el control de la producci\u00f3n de il-2, como nfat y nf-kb.  se han caracterizado algunos de los mecanismos moleculares implicados en la activaci\u00f3n de nfat y nf-kb por pkc. As\u00ed, pkc incrementa la capacidad transcripcional intr\u00ednseca de c-rel y nfat1 y coopera con se\u00f1ales de activaci\u00f3n t. Produciendo una activaci\u00f3n m\u00e1xima de ambos factores. La prote\u00edna mapkkk cot\/tpl-2 incrementa la capacidad transactivadora de nfat1 y c-rel, cooperando en su acci\u00f3n por pkc. La presencia de una forma dominante negativa de pkc inhibe la activaci\u00f3n mediada por cot\/tpl-2, indicando que pkc es un efector de cot en este sistema. Estas dos prote\u00ednas parecen formar parte de una nueva ruta de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales, dos de cuyas dianas ser\u00edan los dominios de transactivaci\u00f3n de nfat1 y c-rel.  la regulaci\u00f3n de la funci\u00f3n transcripcional de nfat1 por pkc implica una interacci\u00f3n directa entre ambas prote\u00ednas y la fosforilaci\u00f3n de nfat1 en su regi\u00f3n amino terminal, donde se localiza el dominio de transactivaci\u00f3n ac\u00eddico, por pkc cot\/tpl-2 potencia la actividad quinasa de pkc sobre nfat1. la inducci\u00f3n transcripcional de c-rel se produce por un
