Estos estudios se llevaron a cabo empleando como modelo celular el linfocito humano y se\u00f1ales celulares como el calcio y ph citos\u00f3licos determinadas mediante el uso de tecnicas de fluorescencia. Para llevar a cabo estos estudios fue necesario tambi\u00e9n caracterizar los mecanismos reguladores del ph citos\u00f3lico de estas celulas, as\u00ed como la interacci\u00f3n entre rutas celulares de transducci\u00f3n.  los resultados mas importantes generados por la presente tesis son:  1)los linfocitos humanos poseen un intercambiador na+\/h+ y un transportador de hc3 dependiente de na+, que alcalinizan, y un intercambiador ci\/hco3 independiente de na+, que acidifica el citosol.  2)la activaci\u00f3n de la pka e inhibici\u00f3n de la tirosin kinasas y pi 3-kinasa inhiben al intercambiador na+\/h+ y al transportador de hco3 dependiente de na+. La activaci\u00f3n de pkc estimula especificamente el intercambiador na+\/ h+ mientras que la ruptura de la red de microtubulos estimula la alcalanizaci\u00f3n citos\u00f3lica dependiente de bicarbonato.  3)el acido ocadaico estimula la actividad de los intercambiadores ci\/hco3 independiente de na+ y na+\/h+.  4)la yessotoxina produce entrada de ca2+ no capacitativa, a trav\u00e9s de una ruta sensible a skf 96365 y nifedipina. La pkc y la toxina colerica inhiben este efecto.  5)la maitotoxina produce entrada de ca2+ por un mecanismo sensible a skf 96365 e insensible a antagonistas de canales tipo l, que es estimulado por yesotoxina, una baja concentracion de ni2+ y por inhibici\u00f3n de pkc, y es parcialmente dependiente de la activaci\u00f3n de pi 3-kinasa.  6)la estimulacion e inhibici\u00f3n de la actividad basal de pka inhiben la entrada capacitativa de ca2+.
