En la introduccion se ofrece un acercamiento a la vida, a la obra y a la teoria musical de arist\u00f3xeno en el marco de la tradici\u00f3n musical griega. La edici\u00f3n del texto griego ha sido elaborada tras una revisi\u00f3n de todas las ediciones anteriores de la \u00abharmonica\u00bb y tras efectuar una nueva colacion del ms. M(\u00abvenetus marcianus gr., App.Class. vi,3\u00bb) asi como de los cuatro \u00abescorialenses\u00bb y el \u00abmatritensis\u00bb que contienen el mencionado texto; el texto editado se apoya en un aparato critico positivo y en unas notas textuales en las que el autor justifica la elecci\u00f3n de cada una de las lecturas adoptadas, siguiendo siemre un criterio conservador de respecto a la tradicion manuscrita. La traducci\u00f3n, primera version espa\u00f1ola de esta obra de arist\u00f3xeno, se complementa con un extenso comentario en el que se ofrecen explicaciones relativas a la terminolog\u00eda y los conceptos de la teoria musical griega, asi como referencias paralelas a otras obras antiguas sobre teoria musical. El trabajo consta, ademas, de unos apendices (sobre los intervales y sus graficos), unos indices ( de terminos griegos, castellanos y de nombres propios), unas conclusiones y la correspondiente
