De este modo, se describe un metodo versatil para la sintesis de diaminas vecinales de forma sencilla y eficaz por acoplamiento fotorreductivo de iminas. Las diaminas son productos que poseen un gran interes tanto a nivel biologico como por sus aplicaciones en sintesis.  el metodo es extensible a la sintesis de un gran numero de 1,2-aminoalcoholes modulando las condiciones de la reaccion. Asimismo, se han descrito otros procesos fotoquimicos de iminas, tales como reducciones e ismerizaciones.  en el presente trabajo, se propone un mecanismo de reaccion que explica los hechos experimentales observados. Dicho mecanismo supone un estado excitado triplete de la imina, que por una transferecia de hidrogeno forma un radical libre. Este radical, una vez formado, evoluciona pudiendo formar 1,2-diaminas por acoplamiento.  se han descrito una serie de productos de gran interes sintetico, entrelo que se pueden destacar varias
