En el presente trabajo se estudiaron los diferentes aspectos espec\u00edficos en cada una de las fases realizadas para el desarrollo de variedades sint\u00e9ticas. Los resultados m\u00e1s relevantes pueden resumirse:  1,- la evaluaci\u00f3n de los ensayos de \u00abtop-cross\u00bb y de los diferentes \u00edndices de selecci\u00f3n en dos a\u00f1os consecutivos muestra que la variaci\u00f3n de la tasa de alogamia entre l\u00edneas influye sobre la elecci\u00f3n de los parentales.  2,- la evaluaci\u00f3n de las difernecias entre los sint\u00e9ticos desarrollados en ambas generaciones demuestra que las dos modalidades de top-cross estudiados (uno con siembra individual y otro con tres semillas por golpe) conducen al desarrollo de sint\u00e9ticos con caracter\u00edsticas agron\u00f3micas similares utilizando el modelo de sv (maalouf y col., 1999), que el criterio de elecci\u00f3n de parentales seg\u00fan su estabilidad de tasa de alogamia no suministra sint\u00e9ticos con mejor caracter\u00edsticas agron\u00f3micas que el criterio del top-cross y el sv, y que el rendimiento \u00f3ptimo registrado se observa en los sint\u00e9ticos formados entre 5 y 7 parentales as\u00ed como el incremento del rendimiento en las variedades sint\u00e9ticas depende del n\u00famero de parentales en el sint\u00e9tico.  3,- las estimas de alogamia obtendios en los sint\u00e9ticos desarrollados variaron entre 0,4 y 0,7. Para estos niveles de alogamia se detectaron efectos de heterosis en los siguientes caracteres: n\u00famero de nudos con vaina en el tallo principal, n\u00famero de granos por planta, n\u00famero de vainas por planta y el rendimiento por planta. El incremento del rendimiento es debido a heterosis en las generaciones sint\u00e9ticas y en menor media al efecto de heterogeneidad.
