Romina <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Con el fin de identificar y caracterizar nuevos factores transcripcionales implicados en el mecanismo de regulaci\u00f3n por glucosa en sacchromyces cerevisiae se han llevado a cabo en la primera parte del trabajo dos estrategias de experimentacion independientes:  a)obtencion de mutantes afectados enla represion a nivel del elemento drs2 el gen hxk2.  b)identificacion de proteinas que se unen directamente a la secuencia uas del prmotor suc2.  la primera condujo a la selecci\u00f3n y caracterizacion parcial de dos mutantes afectados en la regulacion a traves del elemento drs2 del gen hxk2, asi como la identificacion del producto del gen tim9 como un posible factor implicado en la regulacion de la expresion de los genes suc2 y hxk2. La segunda dio lugar a la identificacion del producto del gen med8 como un nuevo factor transcripcional involucrado en el sistema de represi\u00f3n por glucosa en s.Cerevisiae. La proteina med8 es una subunidad esencial del subcompleto srb\/mediador del holoenzima de la arn polimerasa ii de levaduras. en este trabajo se aportan prueba suficientes que indican que med8 es una pieza clave de conexi\u00f3n entre la maquinaria general de la transcripcion y sistemas de regulacion de la expresion genica especificos, concretamente secuencias reguladoras activadoras en direccion 5\u00c2\u00bfdel sitio del inicio del arnm(gen suc2) y secuencias reguladoras represoras en direccion 3\u00c2\u00bfdel sitio del inicio del arnm (gen hxk2).  la segunda parte del trabajo se ha dedicado a la caracterizacion funcional del producto codificado por el gen med8 y el estudio de los dominios funcionales de la proteina med8, a nivel de interacciones adn-proteina, de localizacion subcelular y de interacciones proteina-proteina, permitiendo el conjunto de resultados obtenido sugerir y discutir modelos de regulacion de la expresion de los genes kxk2 y suc2, en los que med8 interaccionaria directamente con elementos reguladores en cis, transmitiendo al holoenzima de la arn<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral \u00ab<strong>\u00abla proteina med8 conecta la maquina general de la transcripcion con sistemas de regulacion de la expresion genica\u00bb<\/strong>\u00ab<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>T\u00edtulo de la tesis:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00abla proteina med8 conecta la maquina general de la transcripcion con sistemas de regulacion de la expresion genica\u00bb <\/li>\n<li><strong>Autor:<\/strong>\u00a0  Suarez Chaves M.
