Se ha buscado asimismo que la morfolog\u00eda de las part\u00edculas de oro tuviese una direcci\u00f3n preferente, de forma que se pudiese llevar a cabo un estudio m\u00e1s completo en el que las propiedades \u00f3pticas se puede seleccionar selectivamente por medio de iluminaci\u00f3n con luz polarizada. Por esta raz\u00f3n, se han escogido como componentes magn\u00e9ticos part\u00edculas coloidales con \u00f3xidos de hierro con morfolog\u00edas alargadas. Dichas part\u00edculas de \u00f3xidos de  hierro han servido, bien como moldes para dirigir el crecimiento de capas continuas de oro, o bien como soportes sobre los que se han depositado peque\u00f1as
