La muestra utilizada son ni\u00f1os de 5 y 6 curso de ense\u00f1anza primaria. El colegio y el curso se han considerado en este estudio como variables controladas estadisticamente.  es un estudio mixto cuantitativo-cualitativo en el que se analizan:  a) el rendimiento de los ni\u00f1os en problemas de estructura multiplicativa, en problemas de proporcionalidad y en problemas de comparacion multiplicativa.  b) el indice de dificultad de los problemas verbales simples de comparacion multiplicativa en funcion de las variables de tarea citadas.  c) la asociacion entre la frecuencia del tipo de error que cometen los ni\u00f1os al elegir la operacion para resolver el problema y las variables \u00abcantidad desconocida\u00bb y \u00abexpresion linguistica\u00bb.  asi mismo, se determinan en los ni\u00f1os de la muestra niveles de comprension cuando resuelven problemas verbales de comparacion multiplicativa mediante entrevistas individuales.  se han obtenido las siguientes conclusiones:  1) hay diferencias significativas de rendimiento entre los colegios y entre los cursos 5 y 6.  2) hay diferencias significativas en el indice de dificultad de los problemas verbales simples de comparacion multiplicativa segun las variables de tarea \u00abcantidad desconocida\u00bb y \u00abexpresion linguistica\u00bb utilizada. Tambien hay efecto de interaccion significativo entre ambas variables.  3) el tipo de error de comprension que cometen los ni\u00f1os esta asociado significativamente a ambas variables de tarea.  4) el trabajo concluye con la determinacion de seis niveles de comprension en los ni\u00f1os de 5 y 6 de ense\u00f1anza primaria en problemas verbales simples de comparacion
