Esta disciplina relativamente reciente combina la ingenier\u00eda y la ciencia de materiales con la biolog\u00eda y la medicina para desarrollar materiales que una vez sembrados con c\u00e9lulas y eventualmente modificados con factores bioqu\u00edmicos, soporten y promuevan la regeneraci\u00f3n de tejidos.   las estructuras soporte usadas en ingenier\u00eda tisular (usualmente llamadas scaffolds, \u00abandamiajes\u00bb en ingl\u00e9s) pueden ser permanentes o absorbibles, sint\u00e9ticas o naturales, pero siempre tienen que ser porosas, para permitir la colonizaci\u00f3n por c\u00e9lulas y tejido; tambi\u00e9n deben ser biocompatibles (toleradas por el organismo), o aun mejor bioactivas (que promuevan activamente la regeneraci\u00f3n). Una parte de la ingenier\u00eda tisular est\u00e1 enfocada en el dise\u00f1o de tales estructuras, y tambi\u00e9n es el objetivo de esta tesis. en este trabajo, se ha usado un pol\u00edmero biocompatible y biodegradable, la policaprolactona, para fabricar  scaffolds para la ingenier\u00eda tisular. Se han seguido varios procesos de fabricaci\u00f3n para conseguir las mejores propiedades posibles con un proceso que sea a la vez  sencillo, reproductible, y r\u00e1pido.  una vez sintetizadas las estructuras se caracterizaron en t\u00e9rminos de porosidad, propiedades mec\u00e1nicas, microestructura.   se idearon modificaciones para adecuar las propiedades de las estructuras con aplicaciones espec\u00edficas en ingenier\u00eda de hueso: incorporar part\u00edculas inorg\u00e1nicas, y tratar la superficie para mejorar su bioactividad en el contexto de una interacci\u00f3n con el tejido \u00f3seo.  Por otra parte, se realiz\u00f3 una mezcla de la policaprolactona con otro pol\u00edmero biodegradable y biocompatible, el acido polil\u00e1ctico, para obtener propiedades mec\u00e1nicas moduladas e influir sobre la velocidad de degradaci\u00f3n.   finalmente, se presentan de manera esquem\u00e1tica algunos resultados obtenidos usando los materiales desarrollados en esta tesis en cultivos
