Ambos tipos se han comparado en estudios experimentales y cl\u00ednicos, con resultados que parecen indicar que el flujo puls\u00e1til puede ser m\u00e1s fisiol\u00f3gico.  el objetivo de nuestro estudio ha sido comparar dos nuevas bombas de flujo puls\u00e1til con una centr\u00edfuga convencional, en cuanto al da\u00f1o a los elementos de sangre, la funci\u00f3n plaquetaria y el efecto sobre la histolog\u00eda de algunos \u00f3rganos diana. Para ello, se han distribuido 19 cerdos en tres grupos: control con una centr\u00edfuga (grupo i), bomba puls\u00e1til (physioheart, grupo ii) y bomba de flujo continuo y puls\u00e1til (salvapump, grupo iii). El comportamiento hemodin\u00e1mico de las tres bombas fue similar. En el grupo i hubo una mejor preservaci\u00f3n de los niveles de hemoglobina y hematocrito, en tanto que el recuento y funci\u00f3n plaquetaria se vieron m\u00e1s afectados. El grupo ii fue el que exhibi\u00f3 una mayor conservaci\u00f3n del aspecto histol\u00f3gico de coraz\u00f3n e h\u00edgado, mientras que en los gupos i y iii hubo casos de necrosis e isquemia.
