Una estrecha coordinaci\u00f3n entre morfog\u00e9nesis y especificaci\u00f3n celular, es esencial durante el desarrollo \u00f3tico para lograr dicha complejidad. Tejidos vecinos al primordio \u00f3tico, particularmente el rombenc\u00e9falo adyacente,  est\u00e1n implicados en especificar las estructuras a lo largo del eje antero posterior y dorso ventral del o\u00eddo. En este trabajo, hemos caracterizado la generaci\u00f3n y especificaci\u00f3n axial del dominio neurog\u00e9nico. A su vez,  hemos estudiado los efectos de la mutaci\u00f3n del gen kreisler\/mafb (un gen transitoriamente expresado en los romb\u00f3meros 5 y 6 del rombenc\u00e9falo) en el #patterning# \u00f3tico y en la especificaci\u00f3n celular. Como resultado de lo anterior obtuvimos que los embriones kr\/kr muestran una expansi\u00f3n del dominio neurog\u00e9nico debido a defectos de #patterning#.  Aunque muchos autores se\u00f1alaban el rol de fgf3 en la regionalizaci\u00f3n \u00f3tica, nosotros demostramos que la carencia de fgf3 del rombenc\u00e9falo no es suficiente para generar cambios tempranos de #patterinng# \u00f3tico. En los mutantes nulos fgf3 y krox20, en donde la expresi\u00f3n de fgf3 est\u00e1 reducida o ausente de la parte caudal del rombenc\u00e9falo, comprobamos que ni el #patterning# ni el dominio neurog\u00e9nico est\u00e1n afectados. Sin embrago, los dobles mutantes fgf3-\/-fgf10-\/- muestran un fenotipo muy similar a los embriones kr\/kr: presentan neuroblastos ect\u00f3picos a lo largo del eje antero posterior y dorso ventral del o\u00eddo interno. Finalmente, obtuvimos un rescate parcial del fenotipo kr\/kr cuando expresamos ect\u00f3picamente fgf3 o fgf10 en el rombenc\u00e9falo de los embriones kreisler. Estos resultados exponen la existencia de un mecanismo compensatorio entre fgfs, y acent\u00faan la importancia de las se\u00f1ales provenientes del rombenc\u00e9falo en la instrucci\u00f3n tanto del
