Una expresi\u00f3n aberrante o mutaciones de otros dos miembros de la familia, egfr y her2, son eventos clave en la carcinog\u00e9nesis de muchos tipos de tumores, y ambos han sido validados como dianas terap\u00e9uticas. En este estudio, demostramos que her3 es necesario para mantener la motilidad de l\u00edneas celulares de pr\u00f3stata (du-145) y mama (mcf-7) en condiciones de crecimiento est\u00e1ndar, as\u00ed como su invasividad en respuesta al ligando de her3, neuregulina-1, el factor de crecimiento epid\u00e9rmico (egf) y suero fetal bovino. Adem\u00e1s, las c\u00e9lulas du-145 y mcf-7 requieren la expresi\u00f3n de her3 para una eficiente clonogenicidad in vitro en condiciones de crecimiento est\u00e1ndar, y las c\u00e9lulas du-145 necesitan la prote\u00edna her3 para el proceso tumorig\u00e9nico en ratones immunodeficientes. Estudios de perfiles transcripcionales indicaron que la expresi\u00f3n de her3 es necesaria para el mantenimiento de programas transcripcionales de c\u00e9lulas bajo condiciones normales de crecimiento, en ausencia de estimulaci\u00f3n aguda mediante ligando.
