Mar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En esta tesis nos hemos propuesto conocer la actividad teatral desarrollada en las palmas de gran canaria durante el siglo xix y reconstruir del modo mas exacto posible las representaciones que tuvieron lugar en dicha ciudad desde 1853 hasta 1900. La historia, la sociedad y la cultura determinan la caracterizacion de la vida teatral de un pueblo; de ahi que comencemos la tesis ofreciendo una vision somera de la situacion de espa\u00f1a en general y de las palmas de gran canaria en particular en relacion con estos tres aspectos, para luego centrarnos en la actividad escenica registrada en esta ultima localidad.
