Para ello, es necesario investigar las propiedades \u00f3pti cas, magn\u00e9ticas, el\u00e9ctricas o mec\u00e1nicas de los materiales, as\u00ed como los posibles acoplamientos entre ellas. En el zno, un semiconductor piezoel\u00e9ctrico transparente al visible, se ha observado recientemente orden magn\u00e9tico al ser mezclado con \u00f3xidos d e otros metales de transici\u00f3n, convirti\u00e9ndolo de esta manera en un material a\u00fan m\u00e1s interesante si cabe. Sin embargo, antes de estudiar la posibilidad de a\u00f1adir nuevas funcionalidades al zno, es necesario comprender en profundidad los mecanismos resp onsables de sus propiedades. Esta memoria pretende estudiar y comprender, a trav\u00e9s de la caracterizaci\u00f3n estructural, electr\u00f3nica y magn\u00e9tica, y desde un punto de vista b\u00e1sico, la aparici\u00f3n de orden magn\u00e9tico en el zno a trav\u00e9s del estudio de tres si stemas: muestras cer\u00e1micas de zno\/mno2, muestras cer\u00e1micas de zno\/co3o4 y nanopart\u00edculas de zno. En los tres sistemas se observa un comportamiento de tipo ferromagn\u00e9tico a temperatura ambiente, lo cual es sorprendente dado que los sistemas est\u00e1n conf ormados por materiales no ferromagn\u00e9ticos (a temperatura ambiente); y especialmente en el caso de las nanopart\u00edculas de zno, en las cuales aparece orden magn\u00e9tico en ausencia de los t\u00edpicos \u00e1tomos magn\u00e9ticos. En el caso de los sistemas cer\u00e1micos la a parici\u00f3n de ferromagnetismo est\u00e1 asociada a la reacci\u00f3n parcial de los materiales de partida, y por lo tanto a estados metaestables. Los mecanismos cl\u00e1sicos de magnetismo en \u00f3xidos (supercanje y doble canje) tienen lugar en la interfase entre el zno y el otro \u00f3xido como consecuencia de la alteraci\u00f3n composicional, electr\u00f3nica y estructural que induce la presencia del zno. En el caso de las nanopart\u00edculas existe una correlaci\u00f3n entre la modificaci\u00f3n de la estructura electr\u00f3nica de la superficie d e las mismas, inducida por el recubrimiento por medio de mol\u00e9culas org\u00e1nicas, y el magnetismo.
