La ausencia de tal sistema impedia los estudios teoricos y las predicciones de comportamiento. Se opto por el modelo de un laser con absorbente saturable por la gran riqueza de comportamientos y accesibilidad experimental que muestra el sistema.  se observo que la coexistencia de una bifurcacion de hopf subcritica y una homoclina generaba la intermitencia tipo ii cuando el laser era externamente inyectado con la frecuencia apropiada. Este comportamiento se obtuvo para diversos parametros y para un amplio rango de sus valores.  otros comportamientos como cuasiperiodicidad, duplicacion de periodo, secuencia de sarkovskii, tambien fueron observados.  el resultado de inyectar dos se\u00f1ales en el sistema condujo a un nuevo fenomeno de intermitencia, con dos canales de regimen laminar, al que se le bautizo como
