Para ello se analizaron muestras de 123 deportistas (75 ciclistas y 48 corredores de fondo) frente a 122 muestras de poblaci\u00f3n general. los resultados de algunos genes muestran que existen algunas variantes gen\u00e9ticas que podr\u00edan estar en relaci\u00f3n con el rendimiento deportivo, ya que los deportistas de fondo presentan un porcentaje significativamente mayor que la poblaci\u00f3n, sobre todo en el gen que codifica a la enzima convertidora de angiotensina (ace), el gen que codifica a un metabolizador hep\u00e1tico, el citocromo p450 (cyp2d6) y el gen que codifica una prote\u00edna responsable de la absorci\u00f3n de hierro (hfe). En el resto de genes estudiados, aunque se encontraron resultados significativos entre deportistas y poblaci\u00f3n general, habr\u00e1 que realizar estudios posteriores que confirmen estos resultados. los hallazgos encontrados en el estudio permitir\u00e1n definir patrones gen\u00e9ticos que ayuden a la b\u00fasqueda de talentos gen\u00e9ticos para orientar a uno u otro tipo de deporte. estos genes, al influir en el rendimiento deportivo, se podr\u00edan utilizar como dianas para el dopaje gen\u00e9tico. Hoy en d\u00eda, el dopaje gen\u00e9tico es una de las preocupaciones que se han generado, ya que todav\u00eda no se ha desarrollado un m\u00e9todo que permita una detecci\u00f3n de este tipo de
