Chs3p est\u00e1 regulada postraduccionalmente por otras prote\u00ednas chs, que participan en su transporte anter\u00f3grado hasta su anclaje en la membrana plasm\u00e1tica (mp) de la regi\u00f3n del cuello. Chs4p es el regulador espec\u00edfico de la actividad qsiii, con una doble funci\u00f3n: localizar y activar a chs3p.  \ta lo largo de este trabajo hemos demostrado que chs4p participa en la estabilizaci\u00f3n de chs3p en la mp, al mismo tiempo que le confiere un estado catal\u00edticamente activo. As\u00ed, chs3p se mantiene correctamente polarizada gracias a un equilibrio din\u00e1mico entre su transporte anter\u00f3grado hacia la zona del septo y su reciclado endoc\u00edtico en esa regi\u00f3n, el cual es dependiente de chs4p. Caracterizando la prote\u00edna chs4p hemos determinado, que su extremo c-terminal, que contiene un dominio de prenilaci\u00f3n, es necesario para su correcta localizaci\u00f3n a lo largo de la mp no as\u00ed para su anclaje en el cuello. En ausencia del extremo c-terminal, chs4p permanece anclada al cuello gracias a su interacci\u00f3n directa con bni4p y chs3p. En el caso de chs3p, su extremo n-terminal media la interacci\u00f3n entre distintas mol\u00e9culas de chs3p y al mismo tiempo es sustrato de diversas modificaciones postraduccionales, potencialmente implicadas en la regulaci\u00f3n de la actividad qsiii.  \tdurante la fase de conjugaci\u00f3n, la localizaci\u00f3n de chs3p es mayoritariamente independiente del reciclaje endoc\u00edtico, lo que explicar\u00eda su acumulaci\u00f3n en la mp en ausencia de chs4p. Por tanto, en este caso, chs4p es responsable \u00fanicamente de la activaci\u00f3n de la qsiii. En conjugaci\u00f3n, una parte significativa de chs3p se asocia a lipid rafts, lo que podr\u00eda determinar un reciclaje endoc\u00edtico distinto al de crecimiento
