Escherichia coli es la bacteria que con m\u00e1s frecuencia las causa. La resistencia bacteriana a antimicrobianos, especialmente a quinolonas es un tema preocupante en nuestros d\u00edas. Es un proceso multifactorial que incluye principalmente alteraciones en la diana (gyra) e implicaci\u00f3n de sistemas de expulsi\u00f3n. Hemos trabajado con cepas uropat\u00f3genas de escherichia coli para hacer un estudio filogen\u00e9tico de las mismas, estudiar la susceptibilidad a diferentes fluorquinolonas (ciprofloxacino, norfloxacino, levofloxacino y moxifloxacino) empleando y no un inhibidor de las bombas de flujo, pabn, para comprobar la existencia de un fenotipo de sobreexpresi\u00f3n adem\u00e1s de estudiar las mutaciones en gyra. Hemos demostrado el papel relevante de las bombas de flujo en la resistencia a determinadas fluorquinolonas, especialmente moxifloxacino. Hemos comprobado que el fenotipo de sobreexpresi\u00f3n de bombas de flujo es m\u00e1s frecuente en cepas que muestran resistencia a estos antimicrobianos, adem\u00e1s de presentar  con mayor frecuencia resistencia cruzada con otros antimicrobianos no relacionados estructuralmente. Todas las cepas que muestran resistencia a quinolonas tienen al menos una mutaci\u00f3n en gyra. El estudio filogen\u00e9tico puede ayudarnos a predecir la resistencia a quinolonas, dado que las cepas pertenecientes al filogrupo a suelen ser resistentes a quinolonas y las del b2 sensibles a las mismas. La misma relaci\u00f3n detectamos en nuestro estudio. Es sabida la relaci\u00f3n inversa entre virulencia y resistencia a quinolonas, de tal forma que las cepas que presentaron resistencia a quinolonas no presentaron hem\u00f3lisis, al contrario las resistentes.
