El objetivo de nuestro estudio es determinar de modo comparativo la eficacia del tratamiento de un modelo de infarto cr\u00f3nico de miocardio en rata con c\u00e9lulas madre adultas derivadas de m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea (mapc, msc y bm-mnc) y de tejido adiposo (adsc, ad-cmg y svf). De estas poblaciones, la inyecci\u00f3n de bm-mnc, msc, adsc y svf indujo un beneficio significativo en la funci\u00f3n cardiaca, mientras que esto no ocurri\u00f3 en el caso de las mapc y ad-cmg. Adem\u00e1s, el metabolismo tisular cardiaco se vio afectado de modo positivo por el tratamiento con msc, adsc y svf. En la mayor\u00eda de los casos, el injerto celular fue transitorio, excepto para las c\u00e9lulas de la svf, que permanecieron en la regi\u00f3n peri-infarto durante 3 meses y fueron capaces de diferenciar a varios fenotipos, entre ellos el endotelio, m\u00fasculo liso, miofibroblasto y (en mucho menor grado) cardiomiocitos. Las mapc dieron lugar a endotelio, mientras que otros tipos celulares no diferenciaron in vivo. La r\u00e1pida desaparici\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas transplantadas pudo atribuirse a una reacci\u00f3n inflamatoria mediada por los macr\u00f3fagos, y probablemente estimulada por la prote\u00edna xenog\u00e9nica de marcaje celular gfp. Asimismo, la terapia celular se asoci\u00f3 en algunos casos a un incremento de la perfusi\u00f3n tisular (en los animales transplantados con bm-mnc, msc, adsc, ad-cmg y svf) y\/o una reducci\u00f3n del tama\u00f1o de infarto y el grado fibrosis del tejido (en los inyectados con msc, adsc y svf). Por tanto, dada la ausencia de un injerto a largo plazo y de una contribuci\u00f3n significativa al m\u00fasculo cardiaco, el efecto beneficioso de la terapia puede atribuirse a la actividad paracrina
