Nosotros hemos observado que cambios en la expresi\u00f3n de los ant\u00edgenos lewis en c\u00e9lulas ht-29\/m3 de c\u00e1ncer de colon inducidos por la transfecci\u00f3n del cdna de fut1 resultan en un fenotipo menos invasivo y menos metast\u00e1tico. la gastritis cr\u00f3nica producida por la infecci\u00f3n por helicobacter pylori es uno de los principales determinantes en la patog\u00e9nesis del c\u00e1ncer g\u00e1strico, y comporta niveles elevados de citoquinas pro-inflamatorias como tnf-\u00c2\u00bf, il-1\u00edY o il-6, que pueden regular la expresi\u00f3n de genes implicados en la transformaci\u00f3n neopl\u00e1sica g\u00e1strica. El efecto de citoquinas pro-inflamatorias en la expresi\u00f3n de glicosiltransferasas y ant\u00edgenos lewis en c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer g\u00e1strico fue analizado y se observ\u00f3 que el tratamiento de estas c\u00e9lulas con il-1\u00edY produc\u00eda un aumento en la expresi\u00f3n de ant\u00edgenos lewis de tipo 2. Adem\u00e1s, se observ\u00f3 que tumores g\u00e1stricos con inflamaci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica presentaban niveles m\u00e1s elevados de estructuras glicos\u00eddicas de tipo 2, sugiriendo que determinadas glicosiltransferasas podr\u00edan estar reguladas por la inflamaci\u00f3n.  los adenocarcinomas g\u00e1stricos de tipo intestinal se originan a partir de una serie sucesiva de lesiones precancerosas que llevan a una transdiferenciaci\u00f3n intestinal de la mucosa g\u00e1strica. En este proceso se activa la expresi\u00f3n de diferentes genes intestinales en las c\u00e9lulas g\u00e1stricas, como es el caso de los genes de las mucinas intestinales muc2 y muc4 y del factor de transcripci\u00f3n intestinal cdx2. El efecto de citoquinas inflamatorias y de sus v\u00edas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n asociadas en la expresi\u00f3n de estos genes fue estudiado. Lo primero que se constat\u00f3 fue que il-6 regulaba la expresi\u00f3n de muc4 a trav\u00e9s de la v\u00eda de gp130\/stat3 en l\u00edneas celulares de c\u00e1ncer g\u00e1strico, mientras que la expresi\u00f3n de muc2 se induc\u00eda por tnf-\u00c2\u00bf a trav\u00e9s de la v\u00eda de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de nf-\u00c2\u00bfb. Adem\u00e1s, se detect\u00f3 que la expresi\u00f3n de cdx2 no era regulada por citoquinas inflamatorias. Finalmente, se observ\u00f3 que las diferencias en la expresi\u00f3n de las mucinas intestinales muc2 y muc4 en tumores g\u00e1stricos pod\u00edan ser explicadas por diferencias en el tipo de inflamaci\u00f3n predominante.  de todos estos resultados se puede concluir que la inflamaci\u00f3n y las v\u00edas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n asociadas modulan la expresi\u00f3n de genes asociados a
