Se describe el dise\u00f1o de un juguete rob\u00f3tico que facilita la metacongnici\u00f3n de los ni\u00f1os. Se detallan nuevos m\u00e9todos de dise\u00f1o participativo que se desarrollaron para dar soporte a este proceso, y tambi\u00e9n los resultados de las experiencias dentro de las aulas que validaron su eficacia. En estas experiencias se hizo servir la especificaci\u00f3n unit of practice de apple, que posibilita la descripci\u00f3n normalizada de las actividades pedag\u00f3gicas con recursos tecnol\u00f3gicos para la ense\u00f1anza. El enfoque de la investigaci\u00f3n luego se centra en las especificaciones ims, estas representan recursos i actividades pedag\u00f3gicas en un formato que los ordenadores pueden procesar. Se analizan las herramientas necesarias para trabajar con estas especificaciones. Se hace una distinci\u00f3n entre procesos de dise\u00f1o en mundos cerrados (dirigidos a grupos limitados de usuarios) i abiertos (dirigidos a un grupo abierto o universal). Se describen los procesos participativos de dise\u00f1o en los dos casos. Se tiene especialmente en cuenta las herramientas necesarias para trabajar con la especificaci\u00f3n ims ld, i se desarrollan modelos conceptuales para clarificar la tipolog\u00eda de las herramientas i sus usos. Se propone la participaci\u00f3n de las comunidades de pr\u00e1ctica como una metodolog\u00eda para evaluar las necesidades, las herramientas, i el uso de la
