Concretamente, las c\u00e9lulas endoteliales retienen los microorganismos y desencadenan una respuesta proinflamatoria mediada por citocinas, tales como tnf-alfa, il-1beta e il-18, que se utiliza para reclutar leucocitos y eliminar el agente invasor. Sin embargo, esta respuesta tambi\u00e9n adhiere al endotelio otros tipos celulares como por ejemplo, las c\u00e9lulas tumorales. Por tanto, en pacientes con c\u00e1ncer, donde las infecciones hemat\u00f3genas son frecuentes, existe un riesgo de que alguna c\u00e9lula tumoral se desprenda del tumor de origen, se una al h\u00edgado y comience un proceso metast\u00e1tico. En este trabajo, se estudia el aumento de la adhesi\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas tumorales al h\u00edgado inducido por c.
