En este sentido, el objetivo del siguiente trabajo es trazar un panorama hist\u00f3rico de la actividad pian\u00edstica en barcelona entre 1880 y 1936. A tal fin, esta tesis presenta una detallada recopilaci\u00f3n y descripci\u00f3n tanto de los fabricantes de pianos como del conjunto de sedes que acogieron los distintos conciertos, y tambi\u00e9n recupera la historia de las academias de m\u00fasica, muchas de ellas desaparecidas a inicios del siglo xx. paralelamente, este estudio presta especial atenci\u00f3n a los acontecimientos pian\u00edsticos que hoy han ca\u00eddo en el olvido, pese a que tuvieron gran repercusi\u00f3n en el p\u00fablico y la prensa de su \u00e9poca. asimismo, presenta la actividad de diversos pianistas, entre los que se incluyen tambi\u00e9n los principales int\u00e9rpretes extranjeros que actuaron en la ciudad.   con todo, cabe matizar que el volumen principal de la investigaci\u00f3n se ha centrado en un detallado an\u00e1lisis de los pianistas catalanes, tanto los mas ilustre como los que, aunque ovacionados en su \u00e9poca, hoy  han desaparecido de la historiograf\u00eda de la m\u00fasica
