En las \u00faltimas d\u00e9dacas se ha impulsado el uso de flu\u00eddos comprimidos, como el di\u00f3xido de carbono, para substituir al agua y a los disolventes org\u00e1nicos convencionales en procesos productivos con el objetivo de reducir el n\u00famero de etapas de producci\u00f3n y convertir los procesos menos da\u00f1inos desde el punto de vista medioambiental. As\u00ed, por ejemplo, en el \u00e1rea del dise\u00f1o de part\u00edculas, se han desarrollado diferentes m\u00e9todos de cristalizaci\u00f3n que se basan en el uso del dioxido de carbono como medio disolvente. Entre estos m\u00e9todos, se encuentran los que utilizan los disolventes org\u00e1nicos expandidos con di\u00f3xido de carbono, a los que se les reconocen propiedades fisicoqu\u00edmicas muy
