Esto se debe a que esta reacci\u00f3n es una etapa fundamental en el reformado a peque\u00f1a escala de hidrocarburos (de origen f\u00f3sil y renovable) para la generaci\u00f3n in situ de hidr\u00f3geno. A pesar de que los catalizadores usados a nivel industrial en esta reacci\u00f3n han sido optimizados durante a\u00f1os, su cuidadoso protocolo de activaci\u00f3n antes de su puesta en marcha y sus problemas de desactivaci\u00f3n hacen que no sean indicados para las nuevas aplicaciones de sistemas de producci\u00f3n para generaci\u00f3n in situ de hidr\u00f3geno. Por ello, se hace evidente la necesidad de desarrollar nuevos catalizadores para la reacci\u00f3n de desplazamiento de gas de agua capaces de operar en las condiciones que exige su nueva aplicaci\u00f3n para la producci\u00f3n in situ de hidr\u00f3geno, para lo cual deben ser: activos a baja temperatura, estables al contacto con aire y agua, estables a ciclos de arranque y parada y
