Sin embargo, recientemente existen evidencias que el receptor que media la lipolisis no es beta1 ni beta2, suni \u00abatipico\u00bb en su naturaleza.  estos recepotres atipicos, llamados mas tarde beta3, se encuentran en las membranas de adipocitos blancos y marrones, donde su estimulacion promueve lipolisis y gasto de energia. La mas importante prueba de la existencia de estos receptores surge con una serie de ariletanolaminas desarrolladas por los laboratorios beecham, las que muestran un potente agonismo selectivo para la estimulacion de la lipolisis.  en el presente trabajo se han sintetizado agonistas beta3 adrenergicos potenciales, los cuales se han obtenido por reacciones de ciclacion que involucran al farmacoforo etanolamina a partir de ariletanolaminas base.
